# Viewing swaps on a roster

> See your updated shift assignment after a duty swap goes through in PlanMyRounds, and find the audit trail of swaps that have already happened on a roster.

When a swap is confirmed, the roster updates immediately and everyone with access — team members, public link viewers, and admins — sees the latest assignments straight away.

## Two kinds of changes you'll see

<CardGroup cols={2}>
  <Card title="Swap" icon="arrows-rotate">
    A true exchange between two doctors. Each takes the other's shift. Shown with a **double-arrow** icon.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Transfer" icon="arrow-right">
    One doctor hands a shift to a colleague who had nothing to give in return. Shown with a **single-arrow** icon.
  </Card>
</CardGroup>

## Where swaps appear

Swaps and transfers are reflected **directly on the roster**. When you open a published roster and view the calendar, you're always looking at the latest assignments — including any swaps that have already taken place.

<Note>
  There isn't a separate swap history log in the current web view. The calendar always shows the current state of the roster.
</Note>

## Check your updated assignment

If you've been part of a swap — either as the doctor who started it or as the colleague who accepted it:

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the roster">
    Go to **Duty Plans** and open the roster, or use the public share link.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Find your name">
    Locate your name on the calendar for the affected dates — your new assignment will be in place.
  </Step>
</Steps>

You'll also get a **push notification** and an **email** (if your email is on file) the moment the swap is confirmed, so you don't need to remember to check.

## Sharing the latest roster

The **public share link** for a roster always reflects the latest assignments. Anyone you've shared the link with — team members, supervisors, or doctors without a PlanMyRounds account — will see the swapped assignments as soon as they refresh.
