Plans change. If a leave request hasn’t been reviewed yet, it can be cancelled — either by the doctor who submitted it or by an admin.

When can a leave be cancelled?

Only entries in Pending status can be cancelled.
  • Approved or rejected entries can’t be cancelled — an admin can change the status instead.
  • Admins can cancel any pending entry across the team.
  • Doctors with linked accounts can cancel their own pending requests from My Leaves.

Cancel a pending request

1

Find the entry

Open the leave entry you want to cancel — from the doctor’s profile, Leave Applications, or My Leaves.
2

Open the action menu

Select the three-dot menu next to the pending entry.
3

Choose Cancel

Select Cancel Leave — or Cancel Excluded Shift if it’s a shift-to-avoid entry.
4

Review and add a comment (optional)

Check the details shown in the confirmation panel. Add a short note if you want to explain why.
5

Confirm

Select Cancel Leave to confirm. The entry moves to Removed status and is no longer considered when generating rosters.
Cancellation cannot be undone. Once an entry is marked as Removed, it can’t be restored. If the doctor still needs leave on those dates, submit a new request.

Cancelling from My Leaves

If you’re a doctor with a linked account, open My Leaves from the sidebar to see only your own entries. Find the pending entry and follow the same steps above.

Next steps
